Illinois Valley Soil & Water Conservation District

May contain: finger and hand

We partner closely with the Illinois Valley SWCD to get projects on the ground for our valley. .

The IVSWCD’s mission is to provide local landowners and managers with technical and financial assistance to best address their resource conservation issues. This mission parallels that of the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds in that is strives to foster voluntary efforts to promote watershed health and conservation of threatened and endangered species.

The IV SWCD was established in 1949. In 1994 the District was instrumental in helping to establish the IV Watershed Council. From that time, the IV SWCD’s Board of Directors has remained active in the Watershed Council’s operation. In fact, the elected Board members of the SWCD sit as associate members of the Watershed Council’s Board of Directors.

For more information on the IV SWCD, visit their website at www.ivswcd.org.

The Illinois Valley Watershed Council also partners with many local, state and national organizations whose goals align with our own. You can find links to these organization below.
